The above photograph was taken in Hua Nam Nga, Sayaburi Province, Laos, in 1968, during the Secret War in Laos.
It shows a Yao village headman pointing to machine gun bullet holes in a book written by their old Chinese teacher, after their village was attacked by Communist Pathet Lao forces, who shot up the school room. A family of 8 were also killed in the village during the night raid.
