New York University Students and the Plot of BACK.
Above Photo: Airborne NYU Students graduating in Washington Square.
While I was in New York recently, I took the opportunity to visit some of the locations I wrote about in BACK, my Vietnam War/MIA/modern-day backpacker crossover novel, including taking a stroll around New York University and Washington Square.
Some of the main protagonists In BACK are NYU students, including a Singaporean-Chinese student and, on my walk around the area, I saw many NYU students were graduating and celebrating by having their photos taken with family and friends.
I then noticed almost all of the graduating students were women and Asian women at that.
I have no idea why that was, but it was another echo of BACK, and the excitement and joy evident on the faces of many of the graduates and families was a real pleasure to witness.
