Bombed Out – Sold Out!

Bombed Out – Sold Out!

I might be 6,000 miles from the UK but I’m still keeping up with Bombed Out! matters, and I was sort of pleased to hear from Waterstones in Liverpool that they had sold out of my book and desperately needed more copies.

The bad news, of course, is I am here in Vietnam, but fortunately I can still get them some copies quickly, which is important for me in the run up to Christmas.

I’m told that News From Nowhere in Bold Street still have copes and that they are selling well. I have no idea about Amazon and Smashwords, but last time I checked they were selling OK.

An early and discarded version of the final cover. It's easy to spot some differences between this and the final one.

I deliberately wound down my website article-writing for December because of Christmas Post delivery delays and because I can’t post any I sell through the website from Vietnam anyway, but in January I shall be gearing up again and also possibly printing 1,000 more copies (to make 2,000 in total), as the demand seems to be there.

If I do the further print run, I’l make a slight change to the book cover to ensure the buyers of the first 1,000 books have original covers.

"Now, what swear word can I use that rhymes with cat?..." Me editing an early version of the manuscript last year in Nong Khiaw, in the far north of Laos.

Until then, I think I’ll just relax and try to enjoy Vietnam, without lugging a book manuscript around with me for a change.

It’s funny to think this time last year I was editing the Bombed Out! manuscript on buses and in hotels in remote jungle villages in southern Laos and Cambodia.
